How to Join DirtSwap
Five steps. No passwords, no email address — just a quick, private sign-in you'll set up once.
Open dirtswap.net in your browser
Safari or Chrome — not inside InstagramType dirtswap.net into Safari or Chrome yourself. A link opened inside Instagram or Facebook uses their built-in browser, which can't finish the login. Tap Join (or Sign in).
Create your login
One-time · 1 minuteA small window called Internet Identity opens. Tap Create, then pick the easy way: Apple on an iPhone, Google on Android or any Google account — and approve with Face ID or your fingerprint. That's your login from now on: no password, nothing to write down, and it follows your Apple or Google account onto your next phone. Prefer not to use Apple or Google? Choose Sign in with passkey instead — the key is saved in your phone's keychain (iPhone: a passcode set and iCloud Keychain on; Android: a screen lock and Google Password Manager).
Pay your annual membership

Ride onFull access to the members-only marketplace, your country lights up on the globe. From now on logging in is: tap Sign in → Apple or Google (or Sign in with passkey) → Face ID. One tap. Never tap Create again — that starts a second, empty account.
Do this once: add your spare key
Passkey users · 5 minutesSigned up with Apple or Google? Nothing to do — your login lives with that account. Chose a passkey? Add a spare key once: open the Internet Identity site (the same address the Sign-in window used) → sign in → Recovery → Add recovery phrase → write the 24 words on paper, never a screenshot or e-mail. Then Add device for your computer or second phone. Without the phrase, losing your only device means losing the identity — nobody can reset it, not even us.
Do this once
Passkey users: save your recovery phrase! Write it on paper and keep it somewhere safe — never in a screenshot or email. It's your only way back in if you lose your device.
Next season you just sign in the same way — steps 1, 2 and 5 never repeat.

Getting back in

- Signed up with Apple or Google? Any device: tap Sign in and pick the same Apple or Google account. Passkey users add a computer or second phone from the Internet Identity site: Add device / Add passkey, then follow the steps on the new device.
- New phone? Apple or Google: just sign in again. Passkey: sign in on the old phone and add the new one; if the old phone is gone, the recovery phrase is the way back — nobody can reset it for you, which is also why nobody can take your account.

📄 The fine print, in plain sight — membership is governed by our Terms of Service, Marketplace Rules and Privacy Policy. Membership fees are non-refundable once your account is activated. Read them any time, or download a copy for your records.
Copy your referral link from your Dashboard — it looks like dirtswap.net/?ref=XXXXXX — and send it to them.
They open it in Safari or Chrome, create a login with Apple or Google, and start a membership. The code is already filled in on the payment screen.
The moment their membership starts, you get 100 $DSD and they get 50. No forms, no waiting.
A code only works for someone who hasn't paid yet — once per person, never your own. If a mate forgot the link, they can type the code into 'Referral code (optional)' before they pay.

- Income from sales may be taxable depending on your jurisdiction and the nature of your sales
- Keep records of what you bought and sold and for how much — every completed deal has a downloadable deal sheet for this
- If selling as a business, you may need to collect and remit sales tax
- Personal items sold at a loss are typically not taxable, but consult a tax professional
For Buyers
- Purchases for personal use typically don't have special tax implications
- If purchasing for business use, keep receipts for potential deductions
- Buying from another country can mean import VAT, customs duties and carrier fees — those are the buyer's to pay
Remember: Tax laws vary by country, state, and local jurisdiction. DirtSwap is a venue: members deal directly with each other and we never handle the money, so we do not collect, withhold or report tax on your sales. You are responsible for understanding and complying with all applicable tax laws in your area.
